I went to see Outspoken the first time in a pizza shop in Norco, California. I met Popeye from Farside and found him to be very quiet and soft-spoken. I also met Jae from Outspoken and found out that he lived one city over from me, in La Habra. We went on to be friends for a couple of years, until I left for the Marines in 1995. I haven't spoken to him since. The show at the pizza place was incredible. Unbroken, Outspoken, Farside, Mean Season, and Process for only 5 bucks. Unreal.
I bought a shirt for Unbroken and Outspoken. I wore them both all the time. The Unbroken shirt disappeared, probably to a friend's collection. The Outspoken longsleeve was stolen by my sister and ruined with paint. What a horrible ending to that story, huh?
I went to the Coming of Age Fest three years ago and ran into John Coyle, the vocalist for Outspoken. I had fun talking to him about life and being a hardcore father. When they played, I went off like I hadn't since I was 19.
This compilation was released by Ammunition Records and has been unavailable for some time. I hope some people enjoy. It has Blackspot, Outspoken, Ignite, and Remain on it.
